I don't believe we weighed it. It was over 27" and we had to let it go.

They are so complicated, it's tough to figure out what you can and can't keep.

They are so complicated, it's tough to figure out what you can and can't keep. Florida Redfish Regs 18" to 27" slot, 1 per person per day. Pretty similar to Alabama's slot. If you find this complicated, how do you ever manage to keep up with the intermittent hunting seasons in Florida? Our slot is 16" to 26"; 3 per person per day and one of those three is allowed to be over 26".

I wasn't talking about redfish, I was talking about the regs.

I don't know about shark, but I have eaten redfish that size and loved it. I've cleaned more blacktip sharks than I would care to remember. Fried Shark bites were mighty popular in Florida back in the 80's. Using a Redfish for sharkbait? I wouldn't consider blacktips in the same ballpark as Reds for eating let alone better. Sharks eat any thing.

Had a friend try to filet a black tip.I told him to cut it into steaks but he would not listen.

I was discussing fishing regulations. The Redfish regulations aren't that tough. Most folks don't even know what they've caught much less if it's legal or not.
