My 2002 GMC Duramax has 270,000 miles on it. Still looks new inside and out. 1 balljoint, waterpump and 1 hub bearing. I did put rear brakes on it at 250,000, fronts are still good. Best vehicle that I have had. I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer with 150,000 miles. Timing belts and brakes. My wife's 99 Denali has 116,000 and looks new. A/c compressor, brakes, waterpump, and factory leather driver's seat bottom cover. Butch

I remember those old commercials featuring Toyota's with 300k+ miles on them. If you've got a similar story, let's hear it.
The one and only new car I've ever purchased was a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo. I drove it for seven years and was in an accident where it was totaled with right around 120k on it (rear ended). I bought it back from the insurance company and drove it for another 2 years before selling it to my brother-in-law. He drove it for another couple years and passed it along to his brother and it's still on the road with well over 200k and still on the original clutch and I think it's had two sets of brakes.
My dad has an '89 Izusu extended cab 4x4 pick-up that just turned over 275k. He's had to replace the clutch a couple times and the electric window motors don't last worth chitt, but the motor and transmission purrs right along. He just turned 70 and says it's the best vehicle he's ever owned.
Honda accords. Have had a few go past 200,000 miles. My current one (1992 model) has 281,000 miles on it and everything still works great. It has the original motor and tranny too. Keep them maintained and they will last a very long time. My Dakota has been super reliable, I spend a lot of time running it hard off road then turn around and drive it several hindered miles home. I will definitely check out the new ones when this one is done. Mileage with the V8 is 15 in town 17 highway but it is a 4x4 with off road tires, a cap and posi-traction not a car. In 40 years of offroading the only non America truck I had was a Toyota Club cab 4x4 for a while, it was ok but that is about it and only kept it about a year. It sure wasn't a comfortable truck a grown man fit in or any more reliable than any of my jeeps or Dodges.

'96 chevy Z71 pickup with the 5.7L. 270K on the odometer and still runs like a champ. Its my daily commuter now (roughly 110 miles round trip daily). body is like new except a small patch of rust on the drivers side under the door. Starting to get some slop on the rear end but its fixable.
I also have a 93 chevy WT 1500 that has roughly 150K (low miles considering the age) that runs like a champ also. I replaced the water pump 2 years ago, otherwise shes good.

'90 Chev 3500. Diesel, at @ 10MPG) Originally red. Front clip and all 4 doors replaced with blue '91 2500 Suburban parts. Ambush moose/trees....(I missed the moose, but that alternate route sucked), among other causes. Rusted out panels here and there. 260K plus miles. Runs good, needs tires. Delegated to firewood and rock duties, liability insurance only. And fall back, when none of the "good" vehicles want to cooperate....
I'd post a picture, but wouldn't want to put your eyes out...

After reading thru the thread..seems folks who do routine maintenance seem to get the miles out of stuff...my daily driver is a 94 Camry with a 4 cylinder in it... it has 272,000 miles on it... doesn't use oil yet... Mobil One is that one also..
got it at 55,000 from my folks when they bought a new car...
car before moving to Oregon was an 84 Volvo 245 Wagon.. bought that one new... had 351,000 miles on it... motor and trans real strong...body was going tho, due to Minnesota Salt on the roads...
was out here, wife back in Minnesota and they had a big snow storm... wife couldn't get it started, so she let the city tow it and they just took it to the junk yard, where it was unceremoniously scrapped....I loved that car, and wanted to bring it out here to Oregon and find out with a good body that needed an engine and trans and swap them out...
that was 16 years ago, and her doing that is STILL a big sore point in our marriage...
I bought a little 85 Prelude Honda back in 92.. it had been totaled twice and repaired...I smacked a deer with it, and totaled it again, but bought it from the insurance company and repaired it...drove that car until it had about 300K on it... gave it to a friends son who needed a car... he abused it for 25,000 miles until it "wouldn't start", so he gave it back... I got it running again, and then gave it to one of the Eagle Scouts in the troop... his folks sunk about 2 grand into it, and then he promptly totaled it by rear ending someone... the poor thing finally got sent to the bone yard... with about 340,000 miles on it..
I've run most vehicles I own, well over 250 K...
My 4 Runner has 507K on it as I said above... the wife gets all pissed off... but I won't let her drive it...I'm careful where I take it also...out here, Juan and Jose love to steal them, and take them down to Mexico to run drugs across the border with them... I'd hate to see my truck end life like that...

1981 Toyota long bed with the 22R motor and 5 speed. Was used hard, hunting, kids, and then used in the business as the daily parts runner/whatever. We sold her in 99 when she had 447,000 miles on her and she was still running well. Replaced the starter, oil/filters ,brakes.

Had a Ford Winstar that went 200,000 before I got rid of it. It did blow a head gasket due to insufficiently designed head bolts that stretched. Ford fixed it on their dime. My 23 year old son has a 95 Honda accord he bought used as his first car with 120,000. It is up to 195,000 now and runs like a new car. Only things we have done were a thermostat, battery, muffler, and starter. I've a 2001 Toyota Camry that was my wife's and now my daughter that is coming on 180,000 with no major repairs. I've swapped the plugs out and replaced the timing, and all other belts, just because. One muffler too now that I'm thinking about it.Front brakes twice, rear once. Wife currently drives a Civic but being a 2010 it has a ways to go. I sit better in the Hondas but that is a subjective thing.

I have an '87 Ford Bronco II that I inherited when my brother died last year. He'd put 210K on it and I've added another 10k since then. It runs great, 22 mpg, no oil use, and very tight...except for that dang rattling spare tire carrier that Broncos are notorious for, right from the factory.

White lightning (97 half ton ford) had 235,000 on her when she went to the big junk yard in the sky. Never replaced anything worse than an alternator. Green machine ( 03 half ton extended cab Chevy) is up to195,000 or so.

I inherited the dreaded chick Grand Caravan family mini van, as I don't care what I drive... 6 years now, and it is a far better sport vehicle, than any truck I've owned.. Canoes easily on top, deer and gear in the back well. Seats fold flat for pickup! Great sound system. Rides like a Lincoln, easy on gas,and tires.. No repairs at 100k, haven't even tuned it yet! Seating is the most comfortable, in my almost 50 years of driving!

My 95 Dodge Dakota has 301,000 on it. Had to replace the transmission at 220,000 and an AC compressor under warranty. Still don't need to add a qt of oil between oil changes unless I go 4000-5000 miles. Always said I'd drive it til the wheels fell off. Lost a rear wheel coming down La Vita Pass a few years ago in southern Colorado so I guess it made a liar out of me because I'm still driving it and if I needed to get to either coast I wouldn't be afraid to jump in it and go.

I had a 1986 Volvo station wagon (manual trans) that I used for 4 years to commute from Virginia Beach (VA) to Washington (DC) in the early 1990's. My family was in Virginia Beach and I worked in DC; I had an apartment in Arlington and commuted on Sunday and Friday (put on about 1,000 miles per week total).
I used Mobil 1 oil and was particular about maintenance. When I traded the car in 2001, it had over 405,000 miles and still was within spec for combustion pressure and would get 32 mpg at a steady 65 mph. Great car; had no major problems with it.
In the mid 1970'bought a used Mercedes 250 SE sedan (4 speed manual transmission) that ended up with less than 500,000 miles on it (used Mobil 1 oil); the only issue that I had was a $2.00 spacer clip that was in the transmission. It went out and I could not locate one. I went to the Mercedes factory in Germany while on a business trip and after a half day of shuffling between buildings, I got it.

Read an article that Toyota has made 1.8million 4 runners, of which 1.3million are still on the road. When I worked for Volvo in the early 80's, I was told (and later this was used in a commercial) that of all Volvo's made in the previous 20 years, 85+% were still on the road. Then I looked at the numbers behind the statement. Most Volvos made in this time period were in Sweden and Swedes only drove about 4,000 miles per year; thus a high mileage Volvo might have less than 100,000 miles on it. As many have notes, "There are lies, damn lies and statistics."
