Meeting to take place on Tuesday. I'll post the results.

Well, it's a few days late but here are some pics of our vacation. It was fishing, swimming, boating, mini golfing, probably some beer in there somewhere too.

Truck loaded down ready to roll

Checking in at the main lodge, replica of the world record muskie caught on the lake we plan to fish.

Part of the story is the same as Grizzly_Bill said. Lots of bears, one HUGE one. Started to unload the truck and found this guy. Biggest bear I've ever seen. I'm not good at this but I'd say he was more toward 500 than 400 pounds.

[Linked Image]

Here is another, when he wanted to see what was yelling and flapping the hat at him....he didn't care. This pic was from about 15', yes that is close enough.

Ma gave specific orders to bring home fish, so who were we to argue?

Papa, Grandma, Uncle Andy and my nieces in Papa's boat.
[Linked Image]

We were looking for bluegills and caught this on the first cast. 15" smallie. The Chip is really starting to be a great smallie fishery.
[Linked Image]

Loony Tunes Rod $10. Loony Tunes reel loaded with new Suffix 6# test $10. Slip bobber picked out at Fleet Farm $1.29. Reeling in a smallie that dad almost got mounted....priceless. This is a 16" smb. I really had to think about keeping this one. It was a heck of a bass and he did it all himself. It even got caught between the kicker and main motor. That is the only help he got. Probably the highlight of the trip for me! Atta boy Jack!
[Linked Image]

A few more fishing shots. Stringer of pike headed for the grill. We caught a bunch of pike every day. I kept a limit every day to bring home. Got one walleye on this load too.
[Linked Image]
Smallest pike we kept was 22" Almost every one was 22-25" We got very few smaller or bigger than that.
[Linked Image]

23" walleye. Caught on a spinner.
[Linked Image]
Notice how the picture was taken by the grill. grin Not ironic either.

Taking pictures of Ma taking pictures. grin I'm really glad Andy could come with on this trip. We were good friends before he and my sister got married. I couldn't ask for a better BIL, and he is one of my best friends. Truly a great guy and would fit right in with the Chickenbuck crew. He and Uncle Dusty would get along well, he's a hand gun guy like Dusty. If Andy can't fix your gun...you need a new one.

Ma took the kids to town for a little horse back riding while Uncle Andy and I were fishing for fish with teeth.

Doin' what I do best. grin
[Linked Image]

Finally! Ma's finally relaxed. One of the kids took this shot, though I can't remember if it was jack or kennedy, they did a good job.
[Linked Image]

Mama bear and 3 cubs. Hard to see all the cubs here. They were tiny, pretty cute little bears.

I wanted to wrap a bucktail with bacon and try to catch that big bear with my muskie rod, but nobody wanted to help me. It would have been a heckova tussle. I still might try it. Bacon Bucktail....it's the next fad. grin

One last campfire before we headed out.

A great weekend at Chickenbuck again!
I don't have the words to describe how honored I am to not only know, but to be friends with ND & his whole family.

Each & every time I spend time with that crew, I feel grateful for having the experience.

OK. Enough mushy stuff. Thanks again to ND, Mrs. ND, Dusty, Muffy, and the rest of the crew for a very enjoyable time at Chickenbuck.

My lady friend & I would very much enjoy another trip to Chickenbuck.

I'll cruise thru my camera & see if there are any post-worthy pics to share here.

I have a wheeler and a boy that needs a place to drive. Let me know when the next trip is planned.

You're right wb, I don't think you can find a better crew.

ha... it does look like he's floating in that pic doesn't it? I like the pic with PWM on the bike.

The flowers are great. Ma, you're really getting the hang of that new camera.
