Saw and handled a CZ 455 in 22lr the other day and pretty much fell in love. Feels as good as it looks and the trigger was awesome. Never heard of the 455 model so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. Thanks

I have a 455 in 17 HMR with a Leupold VXII 4-12x40AO mounted in Burris Matte Med rings on it; I love it. It shoots a consistant 1/2" or better 50 yard group. It's a well built rifle; fit and finish is nice. The safety is backwards, but not a problem; a hang-up for others. They are worth more than the asking price in my opinion. Jeff

I added a YoDave trigger kit, and pull is setting at 22 oz. You need to get one; a 455 that is.

Same thing happened to me...I was out looking at pumps & levers till I handled one... I ended up ordering a combo package deal from Buds, cheaper than I could buy the .22 locally. If you found one with a good trigger, I'm surprised. I ended up putting a Rifle Basix trigger in mine & couldn't be happier. I also found this place & would recommend this https://www.jnpgunsprings.com/product_info.php?cPath=10&products_id=3
this https://www.jnpgunsprings.com/product_info.php?cPath=10&products_id=227
and this https://www.jnpgunsprings.com/product_info.php?products_id=236

My HMR barrel is a one hole 5 shot gun at 50 yds. The .22 has only shot in the .370's but I'm still sorting through ammo...

Thanks guys. I've heard that CZs are known for accuracy but I have never even heard of this model before and it really appeals to me. Guess I will grab one. Thanks.

The 455 is a new model, that is intended to replace the 452. I picked up a 455 myself when a local dealer sold me one for dealer cost, and although it seems to be a very good gun, I still prefer the 452.

I have owned both models 452 and 455, I currently only own a mod 455 which has been sent back for repair account of feeding and ejection issues, I have owned 4 CZ rimfire rifles and every one had ejection issues, this latest 455 .22lr is the only one that wouldn't feed the last round out of the magazine, I have also experienced good but not great accuracy with the 4 CZ's I have owned. The poster that has the rifle that shots one hole 50 yard groups with his HMR and .370 groups with his .22 lr has an exceptionally accurate specimen as I have been around several of these rifles at a local gun club and have never seen one that would shoot like this, he is also a very fine shot. These rifles are a very popular because of their reasonable price and good value as you get a lot for your money, I think you would enjoy a 455 and My advice is to buy..............Hillbilly.

Wow Hillbilly...I have three 452s, a 453 and sold another 452 Lux to a friend....nothing but stellar accuracy out of all of them. All will group in the 1-1.5" range at 100 yards....and that has been with junk Remington Bulk ammo from Walmart.

Not one of the guns have had any feeding or ejection issues. I have at least a half dozen friends who own various models of the 452/3 and all have had excellent accuracy and ZERO function problems.

I've been thinking about getting a 455 in .22 Magnum with a Long Rifle barrel...I am just hesitant for one reason. Unlike the 452/453 the barrels are not threaded into the receiver and I am just wondering about POI shift when either the barrel gets hot or when I switch barrels am I going to have to sight-in all over again when going back to the original barrel... This has been a major problem that I've had with the Ruger 77/22s (before they went to a screw in barrel) and just don't want to waste my money on an unproven design when the old ones work so well...

If anyone has shot their 455 extensively and did some barrel switching a detailed summary of any pluses or minuses would be appreciated...

Bob

You can't go wrong with any CZ rimfire. They are a work of art. I didn't see it mentioned, so I will point out the 455 is designed for barrel swapping. If that's what you want, then go for it. If your looking for a dedicated gun, I would look at a 452 or 453.

If you do get a CZ, I should warn that the barrels in them are tight. For 22lr barrels, I recommend .20cal cleaning supplies. I got a patchworm stuck in mine by using the .22 cal cleaning head. You've been warned..

My advice is to buy one as well. They are fine rifles, and I imagine in the future the discontinued models will be worth some good money (not that I would ever sell mine).

I have owned three CZ rifles, and although they won't shoot with my Anschutz 54 Match rifles, the accuracy is very good with all of them. My 452 Varmint Thumbhole averages under 3/8" for five shots at 50 yards, and around 1" at 100 yards using SK Standard Plus ammunition.

I agree Bob, I think your poi would change on the switch barrel deal, I'm not a fan.......As to the accuracy you experienced the 1-1.5" groups at 100 yds sounds similar to My experience but a previous poster stated that his CZ .17 HMR would shoot one hole groups at 50 yds and .370 groups with his .22lr at that distance and this is much better accuracy than I have experienced with any of My CZ's, I have owned a very select few rimfires over many years that would produce this kind of accuracy, he is fortunate indeed to own such a shooter.....................Hillbilly.

My wife and I each have 452's, hers a lefty, mine a righty. For the money, I can't think of a better .22 bolt gun. I never really have rang them out for accuracy, need a higher powered parallax adjusted scope for 50 yards. Shooting 4x scopes adjusted for parallax for centerfire rifles, both rifles beat my 10/22 Deluxe Sporter by a fair margin, well within minute of squirrels head, but neither shot ragged one hole groups. Creep on both triggers is terrible. I bought a yodave trigger kit and haven't installed them yet.

My understanding from reading on rimfirecentral is the 455 was made to replace the 452. The feedback CZ got was terrible because the purists still wanted the old features, so now CZ is still offering the 452 along with the 455.

As others have said the 455 is replacing the 452. With that said I have a 452 American that is really accurate. I haven't changed a thing on it, but I think changing the trigger is sage advice. Outside of that enjoy owning one of the best looking 22's made for under $450.

I would choose the CZ 452 or 453. I have a 453 with its' set trigger and find it is a real bonus when making those longer shots. Great accurcay from the CZ rifles...they are likely the best buy for an accurate and well built rimfire.

There is a hefty change in POI when you swap barrels, about two feet at 50 yards with mine. Otherwise, I like the rifle.
