1. Swedish Mauser 6.5 Gustafs 1915 all numbers match. Was going to sporterize but too neat for me to attack.Stock shows the dings and guages of the years of use, medallion in stock. Metal in nice shape, $290. shipped.

2. Spanish short rifle carbine, Oviedo 1915, orig. bent bolt, 7x57 stepped military barrel with orig. sights, sporterized stock, headspace good with field gauge. Metal in good shape. Non orig bottom metal is a little more beat (I picked it up to snag the trigger guard release bottom metal and replaced with a regular small ring guard). Nice light little shooter or truck gun. $150. shipped.

thanks
Rick

I'd like to see pictures of the Oviedo. PM or email works.
Thanks,
Jeff

Sorry about the length of this post, i couldn't get this site to take more than one pic per reply, so there are a few of the Spanish and the Swede.

The Swede Model 96 you have posted above is actually a 96/38B, with the Metallverken Vasteras rear sight. This rifle began as a Model 96 in 1915 and would have been shortened to the WWII more compact configuration by the Swedes. The "B" stands for the barrel being threaded to accept the wooden bullet blank firing device. These usually sell for more than a Standard M96, and with the better rear sight even a little more yet. That is a beautiful European walnut stock under those layers of shellac and varnish and would refinish into quite a beauty.

Unfortunately, I have a very similar rifle to this one and was hoping to find one in one of the other wood types found on the 1915 -1917 rifles, where the shortage of Walnut caused them to build some in maple, Beech and elm, even a few in mahogany.

This is a very nice rifle for the asking price and wouldn't think you will have any trouble selling it. On GunStroker this would be a $400 rifle.

Bump for a Swedish Classic!
