Have you tried contacting Winnipeg? SIR is now owned by Cabelas. http://www.cabelas.ca

Then your only option is to find out who makes the tent and source it from another store.

You could have it shipped to the border then go across and pick it up.

Call or e mail Montana Canvas Company: 1 406 388-1225 or email www.montanacanvas.comThe make the tents for Cabelas I just called them and they will ship to Canada the tent that you want. It will not have the Cabelas label. I have been in there factory and and own one of there there tents, everything they make is excellent quality.

Looked at the tent on the Cabelas American website. I'd be tempted to look at an Army Surplus Surplus Canadian 5 man tent instead. Would be a bit heavier but stronger as well. Both are one pole pyramids. The Surplus tent has a fiberglass stovejack. Good tent but a bit dark inside. Don't know this fello but here is the tent for sale in Ottawa http://ipodspro.usedottawa.com/classified-ad/5-MAN-BELL--ARCTIC-TENT---CANADIAN-MILITARY_11055913

I find that interesting Cabelas won't ship a tent up here. I've had them refuse on chokes and brass, even thru Wpg. There will be a lot of stuff that won't be available up here I suspect. The fella in Wpg "thinks" maybe they'll have to have at least 5 stores up here to justify expanding the firearms & etc export permits to include more selection than just the top sellers in their lines.

I was told by a friend that some tents are not allowed to be sold in Canada because of a lack of fire ratings. So what I did is I ordered one and had it shipped to a business called "SHIP HAPPENS", they have a location just blocks accross the border in Sumas WA. A friend of mine will be in Abbotsford next weekend so he will walk accross and pick it up for me. I will update you guys and let you know how it works out.

Bought one of those tents a few years back, actually its sitting in my back yard right now. Me and the boys are going to sleep in it tonight. It sat through a 5 hour soaker the other day without a drop of rain getting in the tent. The front zipper is a pain, but condensation really wasn't an issue. Good tent for the money as far as I can tell.

Had one, an 8X8, and while it was a bit of a pain to put up, it was great, especially in poor weather. Sold it a few years back because the center pole would not allow two sleeping bags zipped together. The 10X10 is the one you need, if you're not sleeping alone. Ted
