I read through the post about the Marlin .22's. My stepfather left me one that I love. It has a case colored (wrong term) receiver, octagonal barrel, and holds 17 rds. I think. I shoot it some, and one time I had the guys at the range look it over. I would have had a $5000 rifle according to them, but it was refinished at some point, and lost the value. It was marked by a star on the receiver. Wouldn't sell it anyway because of sentimental value.
