Can't wait for the end of august/'beg sept so at least the nights are cooler. I have been thinking of deer hunting a lot lately. I'm getting the bug. My boy is starting to show a good interest in it as well so that is adding fuel to the fire. Even if he just wants to ride the wheeler.

Ohhh, I forgot that one.....the breaking of a skim of ice by the tires of the four wheeler...can you hear it?

Rooster you got hit harder than we did. Jon called my cell at about 4:45am to get the kids in the basement because Christy didn't answer her phone. The wind was blowing like crazy and rain was falling sideways but we didn't have any branches or anything down in the yard.
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

it was a HOT 106 here today and yesterday was 112. I did see 6 BIG whitetail bucks this morning. I figured each one of them has about 120" of antler growth already and they still have another month easy to grow. I think its time I get me a bow and arrow

Its a Martin Firecat that I bought about 3 years ago.

It was nice here today until the rain. Then it got HOT. I don't think I've ever felt as hot.

damn, that was supposed to be a PM to colorado1135, oops.
tzone, I spent the day in a 98 year old courthouse without AC, I said the hell with it at 3pm today, when the open house for the guy that retired started, and ALL the old lady's showed up for FREE cake and lemonade, I left. gotta love small towns, but it really smelled like old lady B O and lots of perfume, worse than a Sunday morning church service.

Little Mr chickenbuck goes in for a tonsil-ottame this morning.
I'll drop a line here when he comes back to from the goofy gas.

Construction worker BO is mixed with the whiskey, bar room smoke, and stripper glitter from yesterday getting sweated out. Supposed to be the hottteset day of the year here so far. Gotta keep thinking about the frost covered clover crunching under my feet with a pocket full of #6 20ga and my good old 870.

How about the first time that you blow out and can see your breath?
At least we have some wind here today. Coaching (and pitching) for Lauren's softball game was sure toasty yesterday. as opposed to old ladies and construction workers, I dont think of little girls as sweaty and stinky, but that bunch needed a shower for sure!
Can you hear the crunch of your footsteps in the snow as you walk to your deerstand in the early morning...stars overhead...the very definition of crisp?
Good luck to Lil Mr. Chickenbuck! He is gonna need ice cream. Lots and lots of ice cream.

The little guy is doing fine. It has been an interesting morning with severe weather hammering the area, tornado warnings etc. power has been off more than it has been on. Luckily the generator at the hospital works just fine.
They pulled a pair of tonsils out of joey that looked like a pair of chicken hearts, damn! I feel for the little guy. But he's doing good now. He really wants to be away from that hospital, wants to go home.
Something clever here.

Wow !!!! Scarey stuff !!! Enjoy an icecream for yourself with the lil guy . Sounds like even though the storms were bad there was a ray or two of sunshine pointed right at you and yours .
