Is there anybody still shooting 308 service rifle? I brought mine out today and there was one Garand shooter and I was the only one shooting 308. I did manage a 99-7 at 300 yds. Good enough to take some money home for the 300 rapid stage. Don't ask about the rest of the day. What would a good used Springfield be worth with a stainless Hart barrel and a Fiberglass stock.( Tweaked by some good old boys from Ft. Benning?) GWN

There are a few around. I can't recall Bobs??? name but there is a fellow that shoots M1A at Perry every year. And makes P100, gold medal NTI etc....
They really are not any more difficult to shoot than an AR. The good ones are just expensive. To get the best you are looking at 3000 bucks or more. You should have 2 for sure. Maybe 3. The reloading costs double at least.
I have 2 in the safe. Just can't part with the guns so I'll take them hunting now and again.
Used-- round count in the barrel?? 1000 bucks give or take depending. Lugs add extra.
BTW the best M1A will shoot with the AR any day. Just getting the best M1A can be tough.

We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....
