Made this for my daughter, whom currently resides in England, and will be using this on an upcoming camping trip in Scotland. For those that don't know or understand UL Hammock Tarp setups and whoopie slings, this will show you why they are quite popular with the UL people and early season bow hunters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6vbgyt2-eI

Thanks for the post. Can you give your recipe for the waterproofing?

A Hennessy Hammock is my shelter of choice if it is going to be around freezing or above at night. Neither hammocks or tipis have floors and you don't have to crawl to get in them.
It was southern US/Central America heat that led me to hammocks, but with quilts/underquilts they can be used down to zero without issue.
You can also hang the tarp first in a downpour and your sleeping gear stays nice and dry.
A hammock (and the knowledge to use it well) has SHTF/Urban Evader applications as well.

I use the Method Kifaru uses for seam sealing their tipi's. Mix GE clear silicone with mineral spirits until it is a consistency that can be painted on the fabric. Right on Take a knee. This guy even puts a Tigoat stove in his hammock shelter for winter camping. http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=36272Smokehouse
