All, I have a Model 1905 Mannlicher Schoenauer that was customized to 7X57 with a G&H sidemount at some point. It has beatiful custom wood and a bolt peep with a rather unique circular front bead that has a hollow center, forming a double peep, which works great. I've had it for a while, but in anticipation of possibly using it this deer season, took it to my gunsmith. Inside the stock was written, "Made by C.R. Hiatt, 9/20/41". I did a quick web search and found a C.R. Hiatt divorce case from Arizona in 1937. Can anyone shed any light on this gunsmith? Thanks

Here, here! Pics needed! Sounds like a really nice rifle!
I use a double peep of sorts (reciever peep with Globe front) on my Lyman GRH muzzleloader. Don't know why more people have not used that kind of setup on a non scoped hunting rifle. Quick AND accurate, especially for older eyes.

I'm thinkin he went into making gunstocks to pay alimony....? Sad thing is that it is entirely possible. I'm sure thats a sore subject fo many a good man as well as the success story of many men. Joseph

Sorry for the delay, tried last night, but the files were too big. What's the trick to getting a pic in? I tried a pdf and a zip file.

You have to have it in a photo hosting site. I, and many others here, use photobucket. It is free and works pretty well.
