Hi everyone, my neighbor has an old 1899 taked down S/N 198xxx in .250 that needs a new forearm. It's pretty much a rat but he wants to make shooter out of it. Any info on year of manufacture as well as any idea's about where to get a forearm for it? Any info is appreciated. Thanks. Duncan

It was made around 1918, it's a model 250-3000 and forearms do pop up on Ebay every now and then but for a price.

Change out the takedown lock for the barrel with a csrewin one from a solid frame and put a standard EG forearm on it, makes it a little more stable, unless he has all the old take down hardware. That gets pricey. Remeber this is a shooter. JMHO, Les

It's just a forearm......on a shooter.....I'd whittle a piece of driftwood for it.

I think Les has a good idea.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I'll pass them along to my neighbor. I like Les's idea about changing from a T/D to a regular forearm. Thanks again. Duncan
