London just rolled over in his grave so he could laugh w/o bumping his head...... grin

I stumbled into this one while researching Kelly Kettles. This poor bloke wouldn't survive in his own back yard.....

Thanks, I thought so.

I found it ironic that the word "London" on the brick he was using for his sun stove, and the fact he put a copyright notice at the end of the video---------like ANYONE would somehow try to steal his "Bushcraft skills." The safety glasses were a nice touch too.

I don't own a Kelly Kettle, so I have to ask: Is the the base somehow super insulated so that the heat from the fire only goes up, or...is that guy going to have a scorched picnic table when he puts it away?

I'm pretty sure if that guy gets more than 1/2 mile from a Starbucks he is going to die.

This film is a great example of one of my favorite things about the English -- a dry, self deprecating sense of humor. I think it's one of the keys to how they were able to accomplish some of their feats of exlporation and colonization in the last century. Of course, I personally have *never* had a hard time getting a fire started wink

Yep, he probably scorched his table. The base is designed only to hold the chimney off ground and allow air to pass from underneath. Technically it'll also keep Mother Earth from scorching like an uncontained fire, but his table is in no way protected------------except by his inability to get a decent fire going.

Lighter fluid at least.

Seriously, this guy MUST have never played with fire growing up. Then he decides to be an online "reviewer"---copyright and all---while videoing his learning process. Priceless comedy, and FREE! grin

That was painful to watch. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it.

That guy needs to keep a road flare or a torch in his car for survival purposes. On second thought, I am not sure he could get the road flare to work. wink
