Mr. Echols' shop time has always been very expensive and to at least some folks well worth it.

You have to ask yourself..do you want to drive a Chevy or a Jag! There are some features in that bottom metal that make it top shelf. If you can't see it,you don't deserve it... If you can afford it,that's great! If not, STFU.....don't downgrade a man's work and Ideas!
Come on America, Athletes and actors are not heroes, only soldiers, airmen, marines and sailors get that respectand let's add firemen and LEO's

Rifle, I presume you're not referring to me because I've done nothing but praise the superb quality of Mr. Echols' work.
The finest I've seen.

If I remeber right his shop time is a bit less than most of the auto mechanics out there. I like rifles better than cars.

Very nice work. Bob, Yes, this rifle was my first Legend, which D'Arcy built for me back in 2000. It started out with a fiberglass stock, then in 2005 it was the first Legend to get one of the new EDGE stocks. It has seen a lot of shooting and hunting and is on it's second barrel and third paint job. Despite all of that, it still shot three 175 grain Partitions into .580" at 3025 fps on Saturday, so I think I will keep it. Chet

Chetaf, What kind of finish is D'Arcy going to use on the aluminum?

I just had him bead blast it, so the photos show the finished product. The tolerances are so tight that any baked on or anodized finish won't allow the lever to fit back in it's slot. He is researching options for guy's that want a black finish.
Chet

Hopefully Brian Bingham will chime in on their new bottom metal unit.

I am not Brian, but I will chime in:
Lot's of folks did not like the alloy floor plate on Ruger 77s, but now it's new again....and it apparently costs more than twice what I paid for the 77 back in 1983.
Times change, or do they? I still love my Ruger just the way the factory made it!

The ruger bottom metal in question and Ruger rifles in general are cast bricks of metal. Heavy, ugly, but they have utility.
