I hear ya. Nothing ruins a bin like a wandering diopter adjustment. No worries on this one.

I'd just about bet there is very little practical difference in these CL's and the SLC they replace. I would about bet they just changed the focus knob to the back of the bridge, which is no great trick, then they went with the right eye diopter. I think they did that because it is a simpler mechanism and it is less expensive as compared to the center diopter adjustment it is replacing. Yes a wandering diopter can be a pain, but I'll give Swarovski credit and I bet they did the right eye adjustment right. They may have had to make a slight change in the eye piece design, The fov is largely a function of the eye piece design anyway, and I'd guess that with the right eye adjustment, they may have had to simplify the design, gambling that there would be little customer fallout from losing only 30 some feet in the fov. A little simpler eye piece makes it possible to shave a few more bucks too. I just can't see them canning a very successful 8x30 design with a proven track record. Add the above changes with some different coatings and presto the CL has landed.

Marty, they are 8x30's, and the beer is about 52 degrees, proper temp for real beer.

SteveC99 has them described pretty good. My pair of SLC's are *really* good, I also owned a pair of Leica Ultravid 8x32's and after hours of comparison, actually chose the SLC's and sold the Leica's.

My CL's seem optically equivalent in every way, but I much prefer the handling of them so the purchase was worth it to me.

I am not crazy about the tan color with the eyecups up it looks white showing. Looks better with eyecups down.

Thought they were for 'looking through' not 'looking at'. Swaro's under $1K - what's not to like here?

If I didn't already have a pair of SLC 8x30'S I'd try some of these, I'd say they are quite nice but as I don't have any faults with My SLC's I'll just keep what I got.............Hillbilly.

These by chance don't have a lock to maintain the inter-pupillary distance do they?

Just saying the white showing with the eyecups up and I agree with the looking through. I do have the SLC30 neu and had in the past the Swaro 7x30 SLC "old"
