the radio report said officers had stopped 4 men although it didn't say why, after talking with the officers for 10 minutes one pulled a gun and started shooting, hitting all 3 officers when they returned fire and killed him. all 3 officers on the scene were wounded, one was killed.

Sounds like a true bad guy to me.
What a terrible shame that young officer lost his life. My thoughts & prayers to his family.

How much badder do you want them to be? He shot at the cops!
I'd say that qualifies for getting a little extra ventilation. Unfortunately a good guy had to die because of it.

Ohhh, I suppose it depends on how many rain clouds drifted over the forest this week (if any). It was trying to dry out by Sunday when we went home last weekend. Still some standing water but if you wanted to try to get stuck you'd need a chevy. Not certain yet if we'll be out there, watching the weather I guess.

I just got my 2 archery deer tags in the mail, I can pick up another either sex. I got 2 antelope tags for WY, EH76 is taking me and kenra out. If we draw everything we put in for we should be allowed 11 or 12 critters, not counting turkeys who wants to come out next year?

Sorry, firearms deer. There must have been a big winter kill. There is no early season antlerless season this year. Not even by Duluth.

Same old stuff Tom, they over sell tags for years on end. Then they figure out a year or 2 late that thay have over done it, so they shut'r down. I'm surprised it didn't go directly from buck-doe combo plus 5 management tags directly to buck only with a lottery for doe, or closed seasons all together.
The weather don't look good for the weekend guys. Certainly not for being outside anyways.

I can understand there being a "lag" in deer counts, but they don't haffta sell so many tags to begin with. The only reason I'll shoot two deer is if someone in the party wants one, or when I have Jack with me and we see a doe. I'd like for him to get in on the experience if the bucks aren't moving. The weather don't look good for the weekend guys. Certainly not for being outside anyways. It's looking like I'll have to work in it, for a half day anyway. I'd still like to come up in September with the little man and chase thunder chickens.

Dave, did something happen to your trailer? must have been those flying swampquids out there huh? The stories preacher will come up with when he's got a few minutes. Good to see the young lad is doing well too.
