I've been waiting on one since about January. I'm about ready to try something else if Leupold can't deliver.

Is it only in Canada that it's unavailable?

I've seen them on e-bay so I assume they have them in stock.

If a gloss 2-7 is ok the Leu Compacts are about the same scope. Keep in mind that this is a short scope so check that out first. I have the 3-9 and like it.

Here they are at a bargain price http://theopticzone.com/detail.aspx?ID=3675

Savage 99 gave you some good advice.

I was looking at one and called Leupold who tld me it was not appropriate form the use I planned on a Ruger #1. Inadequate range of movement.

fwiw,
Bought my VX-II 3-9x33 EFR Ultralight in late January from Midway. It's largely a rimfire scope, however, it incorperates many of the suggestions that many of us have made in recent years. I only regret they did not build it to VX-III standards. Still very satisfied...

Regards, Matt.

It just came in! I mounted it on my 7mm-08 Remington Titanium using Talley Lightweight mounts, yesterday - today (hopefully) I'll see what this combo can do. First impression?
Good eye relief, bright.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks for the link.

If I remember correctly, the Leupold "Compact Scopes" were VX-I series, they have the "Standard Multicoat lens system" and the "Continuous tension windage and elevation dials". The Leupold "Ultralight Scopes" are VX-II series and have the "Multicoat 4 lens system" and the "1/4 MOA click windage and elevation dials".

I personally prefer the Leupold VX-II series of scopes. I think the VX-II scopes are one of the best values in rifle/shotgun scopes. They have most of the features that the Leupold Vari-X III Scopes had and still cost the same as the older VX-II scopes cost!

But you're right, that is a really good deal!

Just bought one today, it's the 3-9x33 and mounted it on a custom 30-06, which now comes in at 5lbs with full clip.

I won't get the chance to shoot it until maybe next week. I replaced a B&L 3200 3-9x40 and there is a substantial weight difference between the two.

Let us know how it performs.

I recently purchased two Leupold 3-9X33 EFRs rimfire scopes from Rick B in. He had the best price. I also got some accessories from Rick. I had them mounted on my US Mossberg M44s (.22 rimfire). GReat scopes.
