I am looking for a good quality game bag that is smaller than what most companies are making. Most well made bags are excessively large for one deer leg. I am planning a back country deer hunt and would like to take about 10 bags (in case I get a deer and a bear) but the bags I currently have are sized more for an elk quarter. Anyone know of a source for ruggedly made game bags that would be a better fit for a deer quarter? Thanks, Rufous.

Might just need to make your own?

Pillow cases from Goodwill work well.Just be sure they are not used up.

Sew the big game bags down the middle and make 1 into 2, 3, or 4 as the case may be.

You can get a full set of TAG bags that are built for smaller big game animals that measure 24"x44". They work great for sheep and blacktails.

Buy the wife some new pillow cases and use your old ones. My kids left home 15 years ago and I'm still using their 25 year old leopard spot and Star Wars cases. Like was said before, Goodwill, Salvation Army, or other thrift stores should have some really cheap.

We use the Alska game bags and put them in our vacumm sealer and it makes a nice small package for awhile.

Non-fitted twin bed sheet, folded over top to bottom, cut in half top to bottom, sewed up each cut side. Washable, resusable.

How about large sand bags? Breathable ones. Duck or canvas.

The ones I use are Ultimate game bags (I think are what they are called). They come in a roll so you cut them to the length you want. I just feed a zip tie around the bottom, this saves a few inches from having to tie them. I wash them out when I get home and can use them for 3 years average on 2-3 animals each year. So a 50' roll will last many years if you take care of the bags. I don't like packing bone (unless racks) so I when I debone the animal I can fit them into any size bag I want.

I've been using the Walmart laundry bags, they are cheap and come with a draw string. I also have a nice set of canvas sacks that work better when on those trips where weight isn't an issue.
