Just picked up this nice little SxS 20ga, runs 6lbs 5oz with 28" barrels choked modified and full. Guns is marked "B.C. Miroku, Kochi Japan" and has 3" chambers. I know Miroku made Charles Daly, Ithaca and Browning SxS's but this is the first one I've seen that wasn't rebranded with an importer's name. It also has less engraving than similar Ithaca SxS's I've seen. I found some good info on Jim Wisner's site regarding the history of the Miroku Daly O/U's but there's not much out there on the 'net about Miroku SxS's. As it is, this gun is tight on the face with crisp triggers and good balance. I'm thinking it was a good buy at $299 Anybody else have a Miroku side by side?

I have a like new Miroku 12 ga SXS and it is one of the best SXS you can buy . You got your 20 ga at a steal and it is just a Browning without the name. You will like it.

I'm pretty sure the shop would have asked for more had it been marked "Browning" or "Ithaca." Then again, two trigger SxS's don't really sell all that well, for some strange reason. Everyone wants single selective trigger O/U's, or camoflauge autoloaders

I had a ithaca SKB o/u 20 gauge made in the early 70's , out of all the guns I have sold I only regret selling that one.

I have had a couple of 12 ga B C Miroku SxS guns. Both were copies of straight grip English WC Scott guns and were great guns. You got a deal. Enjoy it. I have seen old advertisements of high grade Miroku SxS guns that were nice by any standards.

There's a gun like that at a local shop priced at $800.

I've seen several for sale, 12 & 20, o/u & s/s, and not one has been priced below $799. The 20 ga o/u I had was everything a Browning was, just w/o the frills.

I think the Ithaca Japanese doubles were made by SKB, another good maker, but the Brownings are certainly Miroku. Certainly, you got an excellent buy. $300 is what cowboy guns go for, not well-balanced bird guns that you will not live long enough to wear out. Good job!

I have a 12 that I paid $400 for and thought I'd stolen it. A 20 should cost 20-25% more and you got it for 25% less. That's a phenomenal buy.
