my little man turns 3 tomorrow, he's growing like a weed. I got him a little battery powered 4 wheeler and he's run the battery down twice already today. he does get a little upset that it doesn't run forever, and he doesn't quite get it that he needs to be patient and that batteries need charging. still he has a ball with it and has gotten pretty proficient with it already. it has high, low and reverse. I wish I had something like this when I was a kid.

It was a big zero for us. 2 nice smallies, 2 northern, 3 sturgeon, 1 panfish and 8 walleye. But all our walleye were shy of 15". They had to measure 15" or better to qualify towards out total weight.
It was a great day regardless and a great weekend.

There was 30 boats in this one and not a lot of fish caught. I had engine issues and had to come back across Mille lacs on my kicker. . That takes a looooong time in case anyone was wondering. More later.

High bush cranberries are turning bright red but still quite a ways out.
Acorns are little this year and won’t be dropping for another month.
Hazelnuts, good crop this year, husks still green, not turning yet.
I am glad to hear the acorn crop isn`t very good this year! Maybe the bears will be hitting the baits regularly this year !! Only 19 more days until we head up your way !

Yikes, I hope that don't end up being an expensive issue Tom. I may have found one issue, but like with most things with motors, it leads to another... We were headed across a flat on the north end of the lake, at about 20-25 mph. I was keeping the bow up because it was rough as heck, and I didn't want to take water over the bow. An alarm went off on the motor. I shut it down right away and turned the key back on to see what it was. It was the low oil. the guage read full. The alarm didn't come back on so I re-started it and went slow, got up to about 2000 rpms, and the alarm went off. I had water pressure, so I don't think it was the overheat alarm. I called the tournament director and told him we were coming in on the kiceker and wouldn't make it back by 3, so I was going to the landing to load up. Once I got the boat on the trailer, I checked the oil tank and it was low. I hope (all fingers very crossed) that was the problem. So the next problem is, why doesn't my guage work? I'll have to dig into that.

Not being there to see for myself I'll just toss a guess out there.
Gauge is maybe an oil pressure gauge? If so, oil pressure and oil level are 2 different things.
As long as there is enough oil for the pump to pick up you will have oil pressure but there could be a level sensor located above the pickup for the oil pump in the engine to let you know the level is getting low.
Why it's low could be something to be concerned about but I'll also offer this idea:
It's possible that it's been a little low right from the last service due to not calculating for the filter capacity or just plain not putting enough oil back in. This could go completely un noticed under normal operation because your engine angle would be relatively level except for short periods of time while popping up on plane. But since you were tug boating, wave busting with the nose high for an extended period of time. Your engine angle could have put your oil level sensor above the oil level line in the reservoir for the first time. (making the oil level alarm/light go off)
know what I mean?

One more coat of paint and the basement floor will be done. Seems like I've been dealing with this forever. I'll put the last coat on today. Then we have to wait 72 hours before we can move furniture etc. back. Than one more painting project. The bar in the basement needs to be repainted. Thinking of doing it in Packer Green.

Sunrise. Hummingbird. These are 2 different loons that were paired up out on the lake. Pam got a pretty cool bee picture.

I took Pam out on the boat in hopes that we could find a couple photo subjects. This was at around 10AM that we found a pair of golden eagles, one flew but one stayed and let us get pretty close, we wish the sun was a little more in our favor angle wise but they are fun pictures regardless. A few moments later we spotted a bald eagle that was camera shy.
