Got out yesterday during the cool evening with the Wolf. I set up my other shooting table earlier and figured it would be just right to get dialed in.

Took my 3 shots which were high, made adjustments down and fired 3 more. I ended up moving the sight half a click up and that would do it. I cleaned the gun, oiled up the firing pin assembly and shes good to go on Sept 10th if i have to use her.

My main muzzle loader is having its stock dipped but i sent it off 2 months ago and am having trouble with the guy to get his butt in gear and do it. So if that falls through, i at least will have this one to fall back on.

100gr Blackhorn209
.500" 250gr Thors
CCI 209 Magnum primers

105 yards,

Shots that are on the left were the first shots on Cold bores. The next 2 shots that are touching or close to touching are on warm/hot barrels and no cool down time.

BB, what sight would you recommend putting on the Wolf? I just purchased my daughter one and am setting it up now. Doing the borecoat and gunshield and waiting on the BH breech plug and thought I might as well add a new sight.

the factory sights are fine. But if you want a sight thats easier at getting lined up, highly suggest the truglow front globe sight and the ghost ring rear sight. They come together in the package and run anywhere from $40 to $60.

BB, when I was looking for this sight I came across 2. One had the globe the other just had a front sight w/o the globe. My thought is w/o the front globe it may not block out the target as much. Is this thinking correct or is there an advantage to the globe on the front? Thanks

i would go with the globe front sight! View of view is superb as the front sight post is very slim and allows for a big viewing area without anything getting in the way. The front globe also had a hood over it that you adjust by hand and it controls the amount of light coming into the fiber optic.

OK BB more ?'s.
What would be a good functional scope and ring set for a CVA Wolf? She will use it some here in TX (just out to 100 yd's) with the scope and then use it in CO. w/o. Don't need the best but the best value. As always thanks............

You can't go wrong with a Burris Fullfield II and a set of Burris Signature Zee rings.

Check out a Konus Pro 1.5-5x32mm. I got this scope on my new CVA Scout .243 and its a super crisp little scope. They also make them in 3-9x40mm. Highly recommend the Medium height Durasight dead on mount system. They are expensive but they are quality built.

Why put an expensive scope on a cheap spanish made muzzleloader? Is CVA buying them for you?
