I have a couple 7600's & they are the hardest kicking guns in my closet.

Congrats on the cool finds T. I think that scope will do just fine on that 243.

I wouldn't re scope the .243 either. Really nice rig, why do you think it's too big? does it ride too high? need to be in lower rings or something?

I've actually wanted one of those for quite a while in .243, nice carying, quick to the shoulder rifle.

Runs with scissors is in love....

It's Tuesday evening. You could have that running by Friday night. Rusty, sure, but everything looks straight and complete. Do it, you know we all want you to.

phfthththtt... I'd have it running inside an hour.

Driving.. another half an hour... stopping... optional.

stopping adds 2 hours if you want to do it with the brake peddle.

an hour u say well get it home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave and WB,

That scope just seems big for a light weight gun. Maybe it will grow on me this season. It's too late to go changing them out now.

You're right dave, it's quick to the shoulder.

I don't think the 760's 7600's kick bad at all. Of all the 760/7600's I've shot the .308 Win has been the worst. It seems real sharp and quick in that rifle. Maybe it's because I'm used to them? I haven't shot a deer with a bolt action rifle since 2004. I've carried them, but the deer seem to flock to the 7600. grin

Nice big sight window on that scope & good power for a fairly flat shooting round.

My Grandad used to shoot a 7600 in 30-06 with no recoil pad. The only way I would consider sighting it in for him was in a standing position. Anything even close to prone was brutal. Of course that was 15 years ago when I was a wee little lad. laugh

I don't usually use a recoil pad on them either. I asked redneck to put one on this when it came in. He called me and said I should look at it first, it was very nice and thought a recoil pad may ruin the value.

I may have him do it later anyway. We'll see. I'd like to keep it, but I always say that. smile

Tom, for your 760 might I suggest an Aimpoint Red-dot. I got this one last year and can't say enough good about it. Quarter sized group at 100 yards. Super quick acquisition, 5 year continuous battery life, works crystal clear with or without my glasses!!

Tom,The 760 is one of the best rifles ever made. The caliber you have is a real thumper.Almost as good as one of my 45/70's.
Dave,details on the old Ford.JUBUYIT?

Stan in SC

The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.

45/70,it's almost a religion.

If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.

Stan, would you say the 760 might be one of the "best in the world" smile And I would love to have something in 45/70, but the damn wabbits always jump up an put their finger in the barrel of my guns, and tell me it is duck season.

Like I said my 06 was nasty. I traded it for a Ruger model 77 in 7MM Mag. The 7 Mag was actually more pleasant to shoot, so I know it was the stock on the 760 that made it a hard kicker.

Nice. I like the cobra.

I got a stainless Single 6 this winter. 4 5/8" bbl, with both cylinders. It is my favorite gun I have.

I'm heading to the bushes this weekend to cut wood, cut some grass, maybe fix a few stands, hang a trail cam. I'll be carring the single six for that work.

I'm going up with Gophergunner, his son, and my son. He is goin to join me and my BIL for deer hunting this year.

After that incident last year at Chickenbuck, dave said it's best if I stay home. grin just kidding ND. I have an oportunity to hunt with my BIL and my Uncle this year and that doesn't happen very often, so I'm going to do that. My boy is going to join me for his first time on a real hunt too. I'm more excited than he is, I can tell you that.

If the Chickenbuckers will let me, I'll head up for muzzy ldr season.

Here's a couple pictures I took at work the last couple weeks. Kinda thought they were funny.

Somebody's husband isn't going be happy when she gets home. She actually stopped, which surprised the heck out of me. She wasn't very amused when I aske her how the ride across was, because we want it as smooth as possible. grin I was trying to lighten the mood a bit in a 'sticky' situation....didn't work.

What does a Dillinger like that run? My wife has always wanted one. I like the Ruger too.
