I'd be interested to hear of anyone's experiences with this stuff. I've used it in two of my rifles- a .275 and a .30/06 (oddball calibre- I'm sure you chaps have never heard of it) and I'm pretty damn sure that they shoot about 80% larger groups after having used it (as per the instructions.)

Fortunately these shrink back down after seven or eight shots, but these are stalking rifles and I prefer not to waste those rounds on thin air, particularly given the price of ammunition over here!

Am I alone in these experiences?

I have not used the product to which you refer. But many of us have discovered rifles which shoot larger groups with a spanking clean bore. Said rifles often settle back down after running a few rounds through the bore.

It sounds to me that your bore cleaner is doing a fine job of cleaning your barrel.

I guess you're right, Idaho, though as I understand it some of the benchrest boys clean reasonably frequently? I spose the old rod, 303 oil and 'fourbitwo' are still the best bet!

ISSF 300m rifle shooters use this foam in their rifles. I have used it for my hunting rifles and I think it is the easiest way to get the copper out of the bore. Usually I go hunting with already fouled bore.

Quite Niceshot. That is normally exactly the way I go, just don't like wasting eight shots to get her back on track! I have one rifle that would cost me the best part of forty dollars to get back on song!

I have had quite good luck with Forrest foam, but one only needs use it infrequently or when breaking in a barrel. Your barrels obviously don't shoot well when clean- don't clean them until they quit shooting good!
