Local dealer has a good buy on 175x80x13 car tires that would fit my utility trailer. Presently only hauling ATV to hunting camp about 100 miles from house. 4 car tires at $64 compared to $110-120 for st real trailer tires.

I took a mobile home axle cut out a big section in the middle of the axle an welded it back together. Now I got a trailer to pull with the lawn tractor. used the same wheels an tires that were on the axle to begin with

On my dad's trailer, all we have used is 13" car tires. He has hauled two atvs, or two round bales of hay on it. It is only a single axle trailer.
On my 20" camp trailer I have on 4 14" car tires. The cheapiest I could get.

Been using car tires on my 6.5' x 12' trailer for years without a problem. In fact, a lot of trailer manufacturers put used, but excellent condition car tires and rims on even their "new" trailers....

I can see where actual trailer tires are needed for heavy travel trailers, etc., but I wouldn't spend the money to put them on an atv/utility trailer.

Just FWIW, those aren't intended for higher speed, long distance, regular use. Keep a close eye on those lug nuts and watch your bearings.

thanks old toot. Thats good to know for future reference. This one is safe though due to the almost 15mph top speed of my lawn tractor.
