I heard from a few of the neighbors that there was a pack of wolves spotted just a couple miles from here. I sure hope they are wrong. I tend to believe it since we have a stupid amount of deer and there are a few elk too.

My interpretation:

Mix up a little fly poison with some bacon fat, pour into egg cartons and let chill. Scatter greasy pellets about area where wolves are known to congregate. As the weather cools and wolves get hungry, they will chow down on wolf bait.

The described procedure would be considered inhumane by many, and would be illegal in any location I am familiar with. It might even get your front door kicked in by a USFW SWAT team and earn you a few years in the pen. NOT my idea of a good way to spend my retirement.

You're not suppose to take out an advertisment in the local paper when you put out bait.......Or do you think the "SWAT" teams will just arrest everyone within 20 miles of where the bait appears?

It is not real bright to discuss the commission of crimes on a public forum, but some folks do.

Had some guy a couple years ago chatting about various methods of poisoning the left's lovely pet wolves. They found bait in the woods and proved it came from his house. Guess where he went?

We also have had a couple of no knock warrants executed in Idaho over the shooting of wolves killing livestock.

If a guy is going to operate by the principle of SSS. He better put the emphasis on the latter S.

Loose lips have sunk many a vermin killer. So many in fact that I think the SSS should be changed to the 5 S's; shut up(about your plan to break the law), shoot, shovel, shut up and shut up some more.

Or better yet remember the old WWII adage, "Lose lips sink ships."

I use to have that on my computer where security was a must to remember to keep my mouth shut.

These are only feet from Idaho, I am picking up my tag today. If they show up I am sure they will run for the border. Once they cross the line its a perfectly legal solution.

I hear some rumbles (Idaho) that in addition to the admonition above, some are intentionally gut shooting wolves to throw off the transmitter-based tracking systems. The wolves limp off some distance such that the collar signal devices (which are worn by many of the wolves) that apparently are triggered by lack of movement go off a long way from the shooting.
