Well, we're going to find out about this stuff.
Supposedly, it completely seals metal, making corrosion essentially impossible, cleaning easier, etc.
I've got it for a slightly different reason.
I've got a metals allergy to nickel, chrome, and related metals. It's bad enough that my wedding ring (palladium) causes the skin reaction. Think VERY bad case of poison ivy on the hands and fingers.
My carry gun (factory nickel 1911) is far worse.
So, I got in touch with Doug Burche, and he suggested the Dyna-Shield.
The entire 1911, and the wedding ring, now have three full coats of this stuff on it, and it's been baked per his recommendations to cure/seal/harden it.
We'll know within the week whether it works.

I sure hope it works for ya, amigo. Wasn't fun for you when you were out here last scratchin and itchin.
I plan to try some of this stuff, too, but in rifle barrels. Especially want to coat my 54CAL Lyman Great Plains Hunter.

Sean, just send that Nickeled Colt down to me. I'll give it a good home, and you can replace it with a blue steel gun.

Hard chrome won't work; it's the metal that's the problem.
