I'm wondering if anyone has tried this product; http://www.lymanproducts.com/lyman/sights/hawkeye.phpIt's for open sights and people that have trouble focusing. Would probably look strange and I'm sure someone would make fun of the individual with it on. probably want to wear two of them just to look even on both sides. I can see my kids laughing already. Might be worth a try so when the day finally comes when I need bi/trifocals I don't have to give up on shooting a good old savage with open sights (eye doctor tell me one more year and I'll need them).

If the target doesn't clear up with my new glasses that are on order, I might be trying one.

They work. Same principal as a through the lens camera. The more you stop down the lens the narrower the field of view and the longer the focus.

Putting a piece of electricians tape with a tiny hole strategically placed on the lens of your shooting glasses will do the same thing, or maybe directly on your eyeball.
Another trick for we old codgers (who wear contacts or who just need reading glasses to see up close) is to try a pair of 1.00x or 1.25x el-cheapo reading glasses to shoot with. Worn in front of my contacts that correct for severe myopia, they allow me to focus on my open sights and still retain enough target definition to place my shots accurately. Cheaper than bifocals with a special low magnification grind for shooting. My optometrist also fixed me up with a special contact for my right eye to allow pistol sight focusing.
