I am looking for an old gunsmith (or a young one for thar matter) who has the proper chamber reamer for the .22WRF (not the .22 Winchester rimfire magnum unless it would work for the .22WRF) I would like to rent, borrow or send gun to him and have him rechamber it for me. It is a rock solid falling block Enders rifle made by Hopkins and Allen but much use of black powder has ruined the chamber. Either that or sombody tried to drill it out bigger. I believe the chamber is just worn out. The next option would be have the whole thing relined and I would probably go .22 rimfire magnum if I do that.

Why would you want to shoot only .22wrf ? The ammow is very expensive and hard to come by and it has less energy than 22 mag.

I think that you can shoot .22wrf in a .22mag.

Because I am dealing with a rifle over 100 years old, thats the main reason. And staying with a caliber then avaialble is more authentic.
