I was able to get to the range today and I have to say that my new SWFA SS 1-4 scope was the highlight of my trip. The FFP reticle was so well thought out that I wish I had one just like it on my deer rifle. Up close shooting on 1x was very fast and the mil-reticle worked great on 4x for the longer shots as well. I only shot ~300 rounds today but, from what I've seen so far, this is hands-down the nicest optic I've ever laid hands on. It's built like a tank and the optics are superior both my Leupold VXII or Bushnell 6500. If I had to pick one optic for my AR(s), this would definitely be the one!!

I've heard nothing but good things about these scopes from people that actually owned them. The write up Jon gave about was very impressive also.

I dont work for SWFA either but the 1-4 SS HD fng rocks as an AR scope.
You can turn to 1x, light ret and use like an Eotech. Then dial to 4x and hit targets at 600 yards,
Glass is super good. Clicks are great. Everything is great about the scope including the price.

Thank you for the report. Sounds like the $800 class optics that they should be. I have been wondering about SS but for the price one can go with a Big Four at that point. I am still on the fence on this one.

For that money, it'll be US made Trijicon or Leupold for me.

I need to go back to JonA's review and see the reticles again but the FFP reticle, it looked like the 4x reticle might be too big and cover up too much target at longer ranges. Was this just the pics or is it suitable for MOA hits at longer range? I personally think it'd be akward for a 4x magnification scope but have never run one. In fact a S&B is the only FFP I've played with and am just ignorant of them. Also, what does it weigh? And being an Okie, I'd like a shot at that N too!

How usable is the reticle at 4X? I am looking at a similar scope, and this is the view at 5x http://www.fubarhill.com/temp/sightmark1.5-5xreticleshort.jpgI just can't picture how useful they are without the scope in my hand.
