What are your experiences with this? Are there any ideas on sealing off the chamber? I thought maybe closing the bolt on a fired round would do it.
The first time I used WipeOut it got into the chamber and action which resembled pouring Super Glue into it. My first fired case stuck in the chamber so hard I thought I was going to have to send the rifle back to Sako. It got easier to open with subsequent shots and eventually went away but it scared me. I will have to develop a new solution as I would like to clean my barrel at least once annually.

A bore guide works well.

I use a Sinclair bore guide.

I don't mind it getting into the chamber as it keeps that area clean. I usually pull the bolt and drop the floorplate, then plug the chamber area with my finger while squirting foam in the muzzle. After a minute or so the foam stops the majority of it's expansion letting me pull my finger back out. My gun is pitched to drain out the muzzle, so no Wipe-Out makes it back into the action/magazine area.
When I'm done with the barrel cleaning, I spray the whole gun out with Eezox, then hit it with the air compressor, wiping up excess Eezox with a rag.

I use a chamber mop with a patch over it and block the chamber when squirting it into the barrel and remove after it fills the barrel

All you have to do is use a patch and jam it up the chamber when your cleaning rod. Tap it in fairly gently. Shoot in a second of Wipe Out and monitor the excess at the muzzle. Lay it horizontal and go do something else for an hour or so. Push the patch out with the rod, insert chamber rod and clean with your cleaning rod.

A piece of paper towel packed in the chamber while applying the foam stops it. I remove the paper after the foam stops expanding and apply from the muzzle of course.

I get apiece of rigid plastic tubing that friction fits over the Wipe Out nozzle, press til it "seals on the neck of the chamber, then inject from the chamber end. I think they send a piece of tubing with it now

Gave up using Wipe-Out, took too long for results. Most bores that seem to take forever to produce clean patches are picking up copper color from the brass ferrules and jags. Now I use Bore Tech's cleaning products and their Proof Positive jags and rods that have no brass to taint patches. Now my life is easier, I no longer hate cleaning rifles, but I still detest rolling up extension cords.

I also use the finger in the end of the chamber method and have never had a problem with wipe-out staying in the chamber. I use a few dry patches w/o the rod guide from chamber end to muzzle end and it wipes out all of the residue in the chamber.

What is so hard about stuffing a rag/shop towel in the action?
