Thanks for all the kind words guys. It was a great hunt.

Duk, my guide was Gary. Really nice guy and kid, we had a lot of fun.

Gear did well.
Got a blister on my left heel at the end of the trip trying to carry those Moose horns up the last 600ft climb. I was wearing my kenetrek boots then.

KU 3700 did great but I wish it had a few more pockets. It was great for weight and meat loads but the Moose horns did not do quite as well since it doesn't have a stiff type frame. The pounding of those horns against the willows would have been tough for any pack but an external frame or stiff internal would have been better.

Slick bag was great and it was nice to be able to dry clothes in it overnight. Liked the neo air trekker.

Great writeup man, if I wanted to start researching how to go on a hunt like this what would be the best way to do it? (cost, options, outfitters & so on)

The McKenzies are producing some gagger moose these days. I hunted with Stan Stevens a few years back and took a nice Dall and a great Mountain caribou. Stan can flat out fly a bush plane.....his Helio Courier's wings were slapping willow limbs when he landed the plane on a Twitchia River gravel bar!

On my bucket list is a return with Stan to try for one of his huge moose. Thanks for sharing!

Congratulations Lee...two outstanding trophies. You worked hard and deserve them. Can't wait to put my hands on those horns. Now, time to get ready for some whitetails!

You don't need much research. Save your money and when you have enough, send it to Stan Stevens. You will have a good hunt.
I love the NWT. I'm pretty fond of the Yukon and BC as well...in that order.
