Does anyone know if they are still producing rifles for the PPC cartridges at Sako in Finland? I have this book by Sam Fadala about 22 caliber and in it he clames time and again that the Sako Varmint singleshot rifle in either 22 PPC or 6mm PPC is the most accurate over the counter rifle available. Any comments on that?

Their website www.sako.fi doesn't list any of the Model 75's as being produced in the PPC's. The do list 22 and 6ppc ammo still. Too bad no 75's in PPC.....DJ

depending on when the last year was that they made them, there still may be some floating around, ask some of your local gunshops, perhaps their distributors may still have one or two.

Good Luck,

I have this exact rifle, Sako heavy barrell single shot 22PPC and it has been the most accurate out of the box rifle I have ever had . My son just shot a five shot group under .250. ( 25.5 grains of AA 2015 Fed 205 match primer Berger 52 grain bullet ) When I shoot it groups range between .250 and .5 an even the factory ammo I had when this gun was new would group under .4 This gun shot like this from day one and the only change I made is to have it glass beded when it was about five years old. I do not know if they still make this model but I just saw a beautifull Sako 22PPC Varmint Model with laminated stock and heavy stainless barrell in the Powder Keg gun shop in Kamloops B.C. Canada. took all my will power to not buy it. By the way my 22PPC must have over 1500 rounds through it and is still great. Check Sako's web site, but i Think all thier rifles are box magazine repeaters at this time.

I just got e-mail from Sako in Finland and it goes:

Dear Sir,
Thanks for your inquiry.
Unfortunately Sako rifles are no longer available in this caliber.

Best Regards,
Sako Ltd

...so this is the case,
All the best, - Kakali

Alot of clubs has a factory class rifle and those Sako were king of the hill I shot both the 6ppc and 22ppc still have those rifles. The first couple of years were the best ones then they started making other models in 6ppc. The 22ppc were alittle long throated but you could get groups in the high 1's and low 2's with either caliber. They had a real nice adjustable trigger and I'm not sure how they got that chamber or made cases but heard they had to pay a royality since 6ppc and 22ppc is trademark. We have a member of our gun club and he has a Sako 75 in 6ppc and it shopt little bug holes and I heard they quit making them you cann't find ammo here any more.
