Looks like the 10-22 or the 77-44 front blade might work.

I would call Ruger for guidance. I've never replaced a front sight, but I don't think finding one would be a big deal. Having said that, I do have a #3 45-70 barrel that is missing a front sight.
There is no accounting for taste.
Experience is a great thing as long as one survives it.
Generally, there ain't a lot that separates the two however, Barely making it is a whole lot more satisfying than barely not making it.

Swampy, any standard 3/8" dovetailed front sight will fit the #3 sight base. If you just want a brass bead like the issue sight and you know what height you want, you can get it from Ruger. If you want something special like fiber optic or white stripe, you can order a Marbles, Williams, X/S, Lyman or other, as long as you specify the corret dovetail width and sight height.

I just want the standard factory issue. I'll call Ruger tomorrow.

I found the #3 manual online and the part number is the same as the 10-22 front sight blade.

The #3 is the only Ruger longgun that I like. I got it cheap.

Swampman700 - if you look around the gun shows, or one of the firearm auction sites, you might turn up a factory front sight. I've found the factory front sight a bit 'weak', and have seen a couple broken off over the years. So, that being said, what I replace the factory front sights with is: one of the older Redfield Sourdough Partridge front sights. These have been a favorite of mine for a front sight since my dad got me use to them in my pre-teen years (I'm 64 now). If you prefer to go wtih a factory #3 front sight, email me and I'll look to see if I still have one around? If so, will send it to you, no charge. Email me if interested, ok. outsidebear
Do good out there...
