Dear all

Is anyone out there using this bullet with good accuracy results in their 7 mils?

I was going to ask for peoples experience in their 7 Rem Mags (as that is what I am using) but any 7 mil really.

Just curious as I am a big fan of this design of bullet due to the excellent performance on game.

Thanks in advance.

I load it for my bro in law for his 708, he's quite pleased with them, kills deer very well, too.

I've used it in a 280 Rem and shoots well. If I was gonna run a Sierra in a 7 mag, I'd probably run the 160 HPBT Gameking.

Works great in my 7mm-08 Ruger Mk II SS. I shoot it with H4350 and get .75" most of the time, sometimes better. Works great on whitetails.

Work fine in my bone stock M70 Fwt. 7/08. (200 yards, sub-1/2 MOA)

I ran a bunch of them in a 7RM with R-22. Killed a lot of deer with no problems.

Thanks fellas

I have used the PH in other cals in the past and the reason I am interested in using them is because in my experience they hold together terrifically well. I am assuming this is because of the design (flat base) and that is what I was also told my a guy that knows a lot more about these kinds of things than I do.

As opposed to the Game King of which I am a big fan but I have found these not to hold together that well.

The HPBT is a harder GK. I've seen a few around here run them in the 7 mags with good results.

Using my 1993 Ruger #1 International (aka "RSI") in 7x57mm with a 20" barrel, Mannlicher style stock, single-set Kiplingler trigger, my "target load" for the 7x57's 3-shot groups measures .176 inches and .179 inches (at 50 yards) with flat-based 140 grain Sierra ProHunter bullets in front of 37.2 grains & 37.6 grains of H4350 (respectively) sparked by standard Winchester Large Rifle Primers fired in Remington cartridge cases.

A "must do" exercise when using the Ruger #1 RSI is to allow the barrel to cool down completely between shots. If this isn't done with my rifle, the groups open up considerably.

My hunting load for the Ruger is 50.0 grains of H4350 (a MAXIMUM load) with the same components. This load yielded a 3-shot group of just .404 inches at 50 yards and an estimated 2785-2800 fps with that estimate based on some prior chronographed loads using slightly less powder behind the same bullet.

I hope this information is useful... smile

The 140 gr. Sierra PH is the most accurate bullet I have ever loaded in my 280 A.I. Others are close but this is the most accurate.
