What is an 1894 Cowboy in 95% worth? Does one caliber bring more then another between the .357 / .44 / .45 LC?
Thanks!

You could check through the classifieds on places like the SASS Wire...

Go to gunsamerica.com and search for marlin 1894.They have guns for buy now prices.1894 cowboys are going tru the roof right now,If you can find one in 357mag in good shape at around $700 to $1000 + then you are in the ball park. The 24" barrel rifles usually go for a higher price than the 20" but not all ways and the same with the 357mag.The 38sp competition cowboy will be the highest price of all because they were factory tuned for SASS Competition shooters.Good luck.

Thanks buzzard bait. I have picked one up recently.... 1894 Cowboy with the 24" octagon bbl in 45LC. I am not a huge Marlin lever guy, but wanted one in .44 ideally and this deal came up so i bought it right. Hope to be able to trade it into a .44 (or a .357).

If you go over to marlinowners.com you might be able to stir up some interest in an even trade. You have to be a member with I think 25 or so post to advertise in there sale and trade forum.Plenty of 1894 guys over there and you can learn a lot from them.It is a friendly and interesting site.

Just FYI to folks out there.....in the last 3 months, i have been able to pick up 2 1894 cowboy imited 24 inch octagon bbls.
One in factory box and fired less then 40 rounds....almost mint. $470 in the 45 LC. Yes, i sold it for a profit rather quickly becuz i captured a 1894 cowboy in .44 mag (which is what i preferred) with XS sights for $550. Sold the XS sights for $50 which made my cost for the gun a mere $500.
I am telling folks this as there are still good deals out there if one is patient and keeps looking. Both of these came off the campfire. Thanks to those who sold to me. This Cowboy 44 will get used and so far, with a 1-4x20 luepold on it, it shoots very, very, well!!!!!!

Ha, You sold the wrong one! Just kidding but I do like the 45 Colt (not Long Colt) better. They are usually more accurate and they make a bigger hole. Years ago someone ask Border Patrolman Bill Jordan why he carried a 45. His reply..."because they don't make anything larger".
