Hi,
Could someone tell me a little more about why G. Sitton retired? I remember a few articles that seemed like reminiscence, but the actual event struck me as rather abrupt...
Thanks,
Dan

Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. -- Daniel Webster

Thanks, 41Keith.
Those reminiscent articles leading up to the event of his retirement sounded like he had lost his confidence in his writing, or in his hunting, or, maybe the connection between writing for all those people, running the rat race and the very personal hunting experience he grew up with was getting lost.
I really did enjoy his writing, and I miss it. I suppose some of the stuff that made up is growing discomfort was the stuff that I liked most: I really valued that the most, and hoped he'd have kept through it.

I also miss him a great deal, he was one of my favorites for sure. The guns and ammo big book of cartridges was written mostly by him, and also Finn Aagaard, Bob Forker, with a splash of Boddington. Who else but John Wootters did the piece on the 308. Sitton wrote by far the most of it though. I can't tell you how many times I've referenced this publication---2MG

I am a big fan of gary. I heard he had a stroke and went through a divorce. I hope he makes it back to writing.

From his time in Ozona, I had the impression that personal issues had taken the most toll.

What, do you guys read minds? I Was wondering about Gary the other day while talking to the Old Man.
You're right about his exit. It kinda sounded, to me anyways, like the old "Thank you goodnight", then the light goes to black and you step back through the curtain.
