Finally got to the range with the 1899F I bought from Kenster99. Using Hornady LeveRevolution 150gr FTX - managed a good 3" group at 100yds in pretty gusty winds. At 50yds, she happily put 3 into about 1/2" - all touching. I think she's going to be absolutely perfect for my MN Northwoods hunting!! Thanks to Ken - a good man to deal with, and a good judge of rifles!! Now I'm "askeered" that I've caught the 99 "fever"!!!

That's nice shooting. And yes, the fever is quite contagious and easily contracted. You are probably a goner already. You are in good company however

I read some more posts after getting this rifle and saw that there are versions with a tang safety. And, my first thought was 'HMmmmm - that would be nice!' Danger!! Danger!!!!

You're first thought was wrong, unless you're looking for a 284, 7mm08 or 22-250. Stick with the pre-1960 rifles.
