I believe it is time for US forces to leave Turkish soil, and the sooner the better. It is increasingly clear that the ruling party is an affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood. The actions of Erdogan and his government in recent days are clearly aimed at raising the political standing of the Muslim Brotherhood in the future Egyptian elections. It is time for NATO and Turkey to part ways. There are several confrontations brewing, because of these actions, that would have negative strategic consequences for the US if we remained an ally of Turkey for much longer.
