I was wondering if anyone knows the rules in regard to the hunting of animals such as bear and deer from treestands in the state of Idaho or Montana? I am living in Michigan but are planning a move to that area in the next 2-3 years and do not want to invest in a new Lone Wolf if I cant use it or if it would not be a sensible hunting method for the area. Any info would be appreciated. MCS

I believe the best Idaho information can be had by reading the regulations: http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/Tree stands may work for whitetails but I haven't seen many opportunities while hunting mulies or elk.

Got a message in to ID fish and game this morning. I have the new big game regs but do not find any info in them in this regard. I mostly am looking for using on black bear and white tail at any rate. From what my buddy tells me would not be much good on Mulies or Elk(as you said). I plan on being out there for elk next year and will get a better feel for it then. Thanks for the feedback MCS
