Whaddy'all think of this idea?
We could have our own li'l Show-Swap-Sell Session (a "Campfire SSSS").
Bring along whatever you want to brag about, to swap, to sell, to give away, etc guns, binoculars, scopes, dies, brass, bullets, primers, powders, range-finders, wives, spotting scopes, cameras, actions, bullet moulds whatever.
You might shed a lot of saliva, and you might find a treasure that you've wanted for years but couldn't find.
At every gun show that I've been to, friends always asked me whether I'd seen anything that I couldn't live without. Standard answer "Yeah, but they're all too young or married."
'Tween now 'n' then, y'all could chat with one another "Anybody gonna bring a Mondragon?" "I'll have my Winsavmarton 65 anybody interested?" "Need dies for my 2x10mm." "[bleep], be sure to bring that Tibetan Schmeisser!"
"Good enough" isn't.
Always take your responsibilities seriously but never yourself.

Sounds good to me... I think I have some bellybutton lint around here somewhere... Oh, and 5000 pcs of 22short brass I've saved, if anyone wants to trade a Kimber 7mm08 for it...
I'll see what I got around, my wife would be happy if I cleaned the closet some.

I need some dies for the .222 Kilbourne - and have some 8mm Lebel brass (primed) and also 7.7 Jap machine gun brass (with clips) to sell/trade. Will keep looking.

If it is in July I might be in. Me too. Mid July to Mid August would be best for me and if anyway possible, I will be there. miles
Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.

My opinion is to shoot for July 28th, that's as long as we can go waiting for the monsoon and not have any hunts going on that will eliminate some attendees. Bear season starts the first of Aug here.
Not saying that is it, if that's a bad date and aug is the only way to go, so be it.

Late July works fine, might even be able to convince my wife to accompany me, but not for the Swap Meet. I'll keep the one I've got.

Late July OK here as well.
Doc, I ain't swapping mine either. If you bring yours, we'll find a way for her to spend some quality time with mine so that neither will get an overdose of the usual campfire baloney.

With both Maddy and Niki present, I'd have a hard time deciding which angel to hug first.
So I'd better leave that delightful function to Paul and Jim respectfully!

A friend was here for a while today dug out my Mauser actions my two best ones, long saved-back for ultra-special custom rifles that just never got built, for one reason or another so now they're out where you can take a look at 'em if you come to the Campfire bash at the lake. Friend who dug 'em out for me talks like he wants one or the other but hasn't yet given me any hint as to which one he likes better (I think that he's having a hard time figuring that out, himself!) Both have '06-head bolt faces and extractors. Mark X (earlier model) standard commercial in every respect with classic custom floor-plate release blued Danzig small-ring military, standard barrel thread, partially customized (ring and bridge hand-polished [not buffed!] drilled and tapped for scope custom trigger [not fitted or tuned] commercial magazine, floor plate, trigger guard, bolt sleeve, FN safety original military bolt handle, unaltered, but with custom bolt handle included separately custom bottom metal blued) I have a few .22 Long Rifle rifles, too including an original low-number (single digit) Oregon Kimber.

We want Rick to see regular activity at this site and keep this as a sticky.
