Of course there will be empty beer bottles. The full ones aren't as fun and they over penetrate.

picked up a couple trail cams this afternoon, I got the wildgame micro3 infrared ones (69.00 cabelas). Kendra got me one last week and I love it, does everything from video to several shots in a row. time/date moon phase the whole 9 yards. checked a couple of my cams today, foundout we have cattle trespassing on our property, those will be taken out monday. on the cam I put up where I'll be sitting tomorrow had a nice 10 pointer make a bed at the base of the cedar it was in, and caught a nice 8 pointer walking by yesterday afternoon, and lots of does. hoping i can fill a doe tag or two while waiting for the grandad to show up, he's a monster.
Good luck to everyone hitting the woods, hope you guys all spank some grouse, shamefully I have yet to get one in my life, one of these years though.

saw 21 deer this morning, no shots. lots of fun to be back out in the woods.

I'm gonna eat it, all we eat here is wild game and we have it for at least 1 meal a day. I'll probably share a little with my folks and brother if I fill all my tags. I only have 3 packages of meat left over from last year I'm saving until I get another deer.

LOL not shootin any cows, I'd like to though. when they wander onto our property, the owners of them aint too worried about getting them picked up. its free grazing as far as they are concerned, kinda irks me.

No grouse swatted today. We did get some stand repair in and some scouting.

For a while, I thought we found the mother of all deer trails until we got to some soft ground and saw what was making the trail. smile My trail camera was out already, but I'm going to set one on that trail and see if I can see the moose that is making all the mess in the swamp.

It was a beautiful day in the woods, couldn't ask for better weather to be out messing around.

Weather here sucks!. Raining agian this AM. That makes 5 days in a row that it's rained. Supposed to rain right through Wednesday. sick

Talked to the grandson last night. He landed (With dads help) his first legal salmon Sunday. When I asked him how big it was he said it was about 11 feet. Wonder where he learned that. smile Fish was in the 12 pound range. Caught it on the Columbia River near the Bonneville Damm. One of the other guys boated a 30 pounder.

His mother was at a BOW event Sunday and shot 3 pheasants. Not a bad weekend.

Well it sounds like everybody is enjoying the nice weather. We sure did. We got out to camp and focused most of our efforts on the area near Pam's deer stand. We limbed up branches that were blocking her view and we mowed a new shooting lane. I re-mowed the whole area and we dropped a couple dead tamarack trees.

Plays with matches did some more practicing with the little single shot marlin .22 and he took his first squirrel on Saturday! That's his first critter ever!! Boy that was a huge deal!

Here are a few pictures. Practicing from prone, Joe wanted to thank uncle Dusty again for the remington thunderbolts, Joe says they really go fast and they shoot straight too.

Watching Joe and sharpening my saw.

He kept that dinger spinning, he's quite a shot.

One of the trees coming down out by Pam's stand.

Hooking up to skid out for firewood.

Straight out from Pam's stand, mowing for new shooting lane.
