This rifle has a Lyman 48 that the stock is cut out for. IMO this shows that Winchester did indeed send out rifles with cuts in it for the Lyman 48 because if this rifle was special ordered without a rear sight but still having a front sight wouldn't you think it also came with the peep sight?

The glass stocked rifle is an FNA3G which is built on a controlled round M70 action. The bottom rifle is my go to hunting rifle, a 1953 300H&H.

The rifle is in a safe at my brothers house as mine are all full so I moved some over there but I really should get some better pictures of it although like I said it's a pretty normal looking standard grade except for the caliber and the no sights on it. It has a 24" barrel like a normal standard grade.

Never got to go but his buddy took it to Africa and killed just about everything with it. Still has the scope base filler screws. Hopefully I'll get it handed down to me. It's a per-64 super grade 458 win mag. Proverbs 12:27 The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.

I'm not set up to load for it and factory ammo around here has always been $110-$120 a box and never wanted to spend that kind of money to just shoot it. I know my great grandpa killed a mulie with it in Colorado a long time ago. I might have to pick up some dies and brass and try to kill something with it next year! When I started this thread, I hoped Rick Bin would make it one since it seems fitting. Well, I got bored and slapped my Stainless classic sporter 7mm Rem mag in my brown stone texture painted stock off of my 30-06 (new haven). I switched the scope out since I wanted something a little lighter and went with a leupold VX1 4-12x40 with long range duplex reticle. In all, my 7mm lost 1/2 a pound and looks better in the process. I'll bet she still shoots lights out too .....: I'm down to 8 winchesters now: From left to right: First year FWT (308 win) W/Nikon Monarch 2.5-10x42 in steel Talley mounts/rings, 1956 FWT 30-06 W/3.5-10x44 Zeiss Conquest in steel Talley mounts/rings, 1956 375 H&H W/Leupold VX3 1.5-5x20 and Leupold detachable rings, Stainless/syntetic classic sporter 7mm rem mag W/Leupold VX1 4-12x40 and LR duplex reticle in Talley lightweights, Sniper grey cerakoted 30-06 classic sporter in a custom left hand thumbhole stock with talley lightweights and Bausch and Lomb elite 4200 2.5-10x40, 2008 limited edition FWT W/Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40 W/CDS and Leupold DD's with 300 wsm Extreme Weather barrel slapped on for good measure, 30-06 Extreme Weather with Mcmillan hunters compact edge, talley lightweights and Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40 with CDS, FN PBR XP 300 WSM (New haven built) W/Nikon Monarch X Tactical 4-16x50 in TPS rings......All of these are excellent shooters and highly dependable.
