Lead shot will be banned in half of my country by 2008. Not willing to jeopardize my original B 25's with steel shot, I just acquired this "steel" gun : Browning B 525 Grade 5 Prestige, 12-3" ga. + INV chokes. Even compared to the B 25, I'm impressed by the wood and finish.

For all I know, the B 525 is (partly hand-) made in Japan by Miroku, then assembled and finished in Belgium. In contrast, the B 25 is fully Belgian and much more expensive. So much so, that I don't want to deface their value with after-market chokes (they're not steel-proofed either). Here are my B 25's :

After some hard bargaining, you may be able to get a (thin) slice of the stock for that price <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> Here's a close up of the engraving :

Nice guns.
Will the govt. permit the use of Bismuth shot? It is non-toxic, as soft as lead, and nearly as heavy. Owners of fine guns in the US are turning to it.

Bi is available all right but at 1 (1.25 USD) a shell, I'd hesitate to burn up a hundred during an afternoon of wood pigeon shooting...

Nice guns you have there Andre! I have shot B25s, B125s, B325s, B425s and B525s. Ive found those with fixed chokes most to my liking while Brownings multichokes are making the barrels nose heavy. How do you feel about the balance of the new gun? How about overall weight comparing to your B25s?

My B25's weight 6.6 lbs. and the B 525 is 5 oz. heavier. I honestly can't say I feel much difference in balance either. Only the B 525 thicker forend felt a little unfamiliar at first.
