I am considering a Shepard Scope for my 300 Weatherby. I did a search and did not see them as a topic or in many posts.

Who has used them, and what do people see as their benefits and drawbacks?

I own about a half dozen and think they are very useful hunting scopes. I'm guessing most of the folks on here who "trash" them have never owned them, and are just trying to fit in with their peers (most of whom have no personal experience with them.

I have dealt with them several different ways and they are junk IMO&E... Fun is watching someone try to "one-shot zero" them without the handbook... wink

I have owned two and sold two. There will not be a third.

A reasonable concept, but the quality was lacking severely both mechanically and optically. I owned the first one around 92. I tried again around 2000 thinking perhaps things had improved. They had not. Perhaps they have now...
