What if any product will repair the looks of the black plastic fore end tip that Remington uses? I stripped a stock using Citrustrip and now my fore end tip is ugly as sin. It's patchy looking with some of the original glossy finish still on it and the rest is dull and muddy.

If it matters, I'm using French Red and Tru Oil for the final product.

Wet sand it to 320, finer if you want. Then a couple coats of black shoe polish and you should be good to go.

I just sand them and finish right along with the stock , don't forget to sand the grip cap too , so they'll match .

Thanks for the input fellows. I'll sand it down the rest of the way and see what happens.

I will be doing the same soon on my 700. Good to know. How did the citrustrip work on the checkering. I have used it a lot before but never in checkering.

I had to apply the Citrustrip several times on the checkering, but that may have been my being to cautious. I was nervous about using to stiff of a brush and boogering things up so I just kept at it with a toothbrush. Looks OK.
