Last week I had an odd experience: I shot a roe deer buck with this load. It was a high lung shot, the buck stumbled some 50 yards and died. When we undressed him, we found, that the entrance hole and the exit hole were on the same (!) side of the body, only 8" apart. No joke! The lung seemed not to be hurt, only touched. I have never experienced something like this. And I dont know why the buck died in such a short time. My only explanation for the two holes on the same side of the body is, that the 100 grs corelokt is extremely weak and that the exit hole is caused by the separated cup or the core of the bullet. Which experience do you have with this bullet? (I will change to the Federal 130 grs Gameking)

You are using a Varmint bullet . It should sasy Power-Lokt on the box , if I'm not mistaken .
Don't forget to have your Liberals spayed or neutered !

Just use the 130 grain Core-Lokt and you'll be fine.

The 243 Win 100 grs load is very good for roe deer. So I thought, it was a good idea, to take the 100 grs load of the 270. And as far as I know the Core-Lokt bullet is a good one. That seemed to be a good combination for roe deer. But the result was questionable. What means "Varmint"? How big is the biggest one? Perhaps an animal with a weight of 30 lbs dressed is too large?

i'm with whitetailhunter on this one - get some 130gr corelokts - no telling how many deer have fallen to that load.

The 100gr Remington load is a PSP (Pointed Soft Point) not a Core Lokt. As indiccated above, it's designed for varmints, not deer. (IMO, "varmints" means coyotes and smaller.) Just because a 6mm 100gr bullet is designed for deer, does not mean a 277 caliber bullet is designed for deer.

Thats true. But I thought the Core-Lokt bullet should work on (roe) deer. And on the German market are many bullets for the 243, not only PSPs (cup & core).

Is the Gameking softer than the Core-Lokt? If so, it could be better for the smaller roe deer.

Again, the 100gr 270 bullet is NOT a Core Lokt.

You sure know: Not everyone reads the labels.(- And not everyone tells this to the whole world.) But this explains everything.
