I watched a buddy of mine shoot Sub MOA groups at 400 yards using his 280 but when we shot at 500 yards it all fell apart.

I have shot my 300 win mag out to 750 yards and the cartridge does well, I don't. I limit myself to 650 yards for that reason (for killing deer).
Any of the accomplished LRH's know at what distance the 300 win mag gives up?
On another note, Have any of you noticed or experienced this: At 100, 200, 300 yards a gun/shooter shoots 1 MOA and then around 350 plus it actually gets better. I consistently shoot smaller groups at 400 yards then I do at 300 yards using my 300 win mag. Go Figure
