OP 163bc Campfire Tracker Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 4,249 virginia	This bucks testicles had not dropped for some reason?? I'm not sure if it was from injury or what?? I don't know if it contributed to the unusual antler growth or not but it is almost certainly why he was still in velvet. The buck is an 8x7 including a cool 2 inch drop tine off the left antler. The circumfrence of the bases are 8+ inches above the burr!! One of the G-2s is 19 1/2 inches. The gross score as you see it is 209 7/8 non typical gross. I won't strip the velvet to enter the book he will be mounted as is. The deer was taken in Las Animas Co. Colorado. He weighed easily 300+ lbs on the hoof. He was with 4 other smaller bucks when we sam him. Worked on the stalk for an hour or so and got within 350 yards but could not get a clean shot. Kept slowly working at it and finally crested a small knob for a 100 yard shot. When I popped over the top of the knob the buck was looking right at me an ready to bolt. I got the shot off in less than a second after I found him in my scope. My 300 RUM and 180 Accubond crushed him in his tracks.

30338 Campfire Outfitter Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 11,356 Denver	Saw a bachelor herd in the west elks back in Sept that had 12 bucks in it. 6 of them had really crazy deformed horns and one of the locals told me they had a very high incidence of stags there. The stag you shot was way bigger than any of those I saw. Love those Spanish Peaks.
