Had a good weekend hunting. jumped a slew with hundreds of ducks in it. Awesome. My brother had to go swimming to get them as we didnt have waders (we were pheasant hunting). Ah, it is so nice to be the older (smarter?) brother!

One of the superintendants I work with and haven't seen for a while came into my office, gave me the "nod" and said, "you got the deer camp beard too eh?" Yep, yep, I do.

1,000,000Sqft addittion to a chrysler plant for some new fiats to be built. soon as we get the robots working property (idiot engineers) and it can run cars without turning them into crushed cars, were gonna start on the old body shop which could be another 2-3 yrs worth of work, fiat is really really throwing some money at chrysler corp.

I've had pacemakers for 10 yrs.....but somehow I let this one go totally dead and never considered it as the cause of feeling very bad for quite awhile. One night around a fire a friend's (boatboy on here) lady asked if I'd had the pacemaker checked lately and guess what? She was right on. Great things happen around campfire's I tell ya. Now just have to get back some muscle tone that escaped while I was dragging. Grizzly Bill...the walleye fishing was very good here this year and I think will be on the upswing for the next few to come. Thanks for the good wishes guys.....Rut On!

Hey Dave-
You boys got any snow up there yet? Seeing any scrapes yet? Tom's got me all pumped up with the buck pictures he posted.

Deer are definitely starting to move around in this area. Seeing a buck or two darting across the road every morning. Does and fawns eating the last green greens on the edge of the road early too. Starting to get a little brisk and frisky.
32 degrees right now.
Snort.

By contrast it was 84 degrees here in South Carolina on Sunday afternoon when I went hunting.Today is Wednesday and I have a day off from the gun shop but I probably will not go hunting this afternoon because I awoke to rain which started evidently last night. If it might happen to clear up during the day then I will definitely go late this afternoon because right after a rain has always been good for me. I would rather deer season be cold like the seasons I remember back in the 1970's when opening day in late October was 12 degrees. Our season has progressively been warmer for the last 20 to 30 years. Not to any great degree such as the global warming crew argue but it has gotten somewhat warmer. But...it is what it is and you deal with it. As I sit here at the computer I can hear the very faint sound of the deer rifles in the safe moving around a wee bit. They really get antsy to get out when they know the season is in.

Hey Dave-
You boys got any snow up there yet? Seeing any scrapes yet? Tom's got me all pumped up with the buck pictures he posted. We saw a few flakes yesterday morning. 27 degrees when I left the house this morning. Scrapes, rubs... heck if I know but I hope to put my eyes on some of that stuff this weekend. We have youth hunt this weekend for RWS.

I walked a lot on Sunday and didnt see any scrapes. The pics of the bucks I have, don't have dark hocks yet either. I think this week or the next.
I'm going back up on Sunday to hang a stand and fix up some if I have time. I fully expect to see some more rubs then.

I'm going to hunt tomorrow morning. Much cooler. Hopefully some bucks will be moving but this is still a semi-grocery shopping hunt so I will not be very picky yet.
Save an elk, shoot a cow.

Can the Youths (pronounced Utes) shoot only anterless this weekend? they have choice in my area, if the boy sees a buck, he can shoot it. Of course it still remains 1 buck per hunter no matter the combination of seasons/tag options. Still 1 buck per season per hunter, so if he burns the buck tag he'll be running on antlerless management tags through regular rifle and mzl seasons.

How old were you when you were allowed to sit on your own?
I am not there yet, but starting to think about it. My oldest will be ready before long the youngest has a longer wait.
