On a more useful post. I carry chains and a boom for emergencies now. I started putting a couple of grade 8 bolts washers and nuts through a loose link so I could "secure" the chain and the hook.

The most inportant thing,a good dose of common sense. I carry: swede saw Jack-All axe or hand axe D-handle shovel 20' nylon sling(tow strap) 12v air compressor and plug kit Larger cross wrench 24" key(bolt cutters) first aid kit wool blanket water quart of oil bar of soap hand sanitizer bug juice WD-40 eye-glass repair duct tape and tie wire tools,3/8drive mm&SAE ,8"linesman pliers,10"cresent wrench, combination sets mm&SAE, multi screwdriver, claw hammer Bic lighters and matches Tire chains HD come-a-long jumper cables Baby wipes and grease wipes TP
After many thousands miles in the back country,I have needed air compressor cross wrench swede saw tow strap tie wire(+pliers)and duct tape tools, alternator and idler bearing (on highway) tire chains, snotty muddy roads, not stuck bug juice Jack-All eye-glass repair kit
With our logging roads ending in water sheds,I have found it both easier and faster to walk the last few hundred yards.
You can hunt longer with wind at your back

When on private land some fence repair gear, basic water fittings to repair leaky pipes and a notebook to write down anything you notice may need attention. Carry those and use them and I will guarantee you'll get invited back and will also be made welcome by other land owners in the area.
